يسلط هذا الكتاب الأضواء على تجارب الأدباء من روائيين وشعراء في المملكة العربية السعودية، منذ حقبة التسعينيات وصولاً إلى التجربة الحديثة في فضاء النت المفتوح على الإبداع والإبتكار. حيث يتعرض الكتاب بالدراسة والنقد لإصدارات هؤلاء الأدباء والتي شكّلت بمجموعها مشروع أو مفتاح ييسّر للقارىء فهم استمرارية التجربة وعدم ثبوتها عند مستنسخات تتراكم فلا تضيف أو تنوِّع. بل أن توالي الإصدارات مؤشر دال على الإنطلاق والفهم والإنفتاح والمرونة المطلوبة.
إن ما يميّز التجربة التسعينية برأي الكاتب، أنها جاءت متحررة من الآباء الإعلاميين والآباء النقديين، منعتقة من السطوة الخارجية ومنظورها الأحادي ... "كان التسعينيون وحدهم والكلمة .. وحدهم والأصدقاء؛ تلك الدائرة الصغيرة ... ثمة لقاءات خاطفة لكنها عميقة التأثير غائرة التخصيب. من هذه الدائرة: أحمد الملا؛ إبراهيم الحسين؛ عبد الله السفر؛ غسان الخنيزي؛ أحمد كتوعة؛ علي العمري؛ يوسف المحيميد (وبالقرب منهم: حمد الفقيه؛ سعود السويداء؛ عيد الخميسي) كان منزل أحمد الملا في الظهران وشقة أحمد كتوعة في الرياض؛ خيمة ومختبراً (...) يقرأون ويتقاطعون ويصوّب بعضهم الآخر. النصوص غير منزهة .. قابلة للتعديل والشطب والإلغاء. قسوة أحبوها، ولم يجفلوا منها".
