في جديده "السبب لا يعرفه" يخط عبد الرحمن الشهري قصائده، وكأنها حكاية قصيرة، بل لحظات من سيرة خاصة، أو حياة جافة، يستعيد خلالها محطات العمر الغاربة. هي حياة تخثرت، تعاش موتاً مؤجلاً تهجس به الوقائع ولا تنهمر من ذاكرة الشاعر إلا صورة. عن هذه الحياة يكتب الشهري وهو يحمل في داخله وسم الأيام الحارق لسنين العمر وكأنه يوارى حياة جفت عروقها وهجرتها دواعي البقاء (في داخله/ ندبة قديمة يتجمع فيها الحزن../ حزن أثير على قلبه/ وكلما صادفه في الطريق/ يحمله بلا تردد).
إن عبد الرحمن الشهري في "لسبب لا يعرفه" يبوح بتجربة الألم الذي يفصح عنه في الأهداء (ماتت عائشة/ لأن الموت لا ينبغي أن يعود إلى السماء بلا راكب جديد، فإلى روحها هذه القصائد). ضوء هذا الاهداء يكشف عن السبب الذي جعل النصوص تموج في صفرة الحياة وأوراقها اليابسة بإنتظار هبوب الإقتلاع الذي قاربه الشهري بمرارة قلب (لاكه الموت بقسوة شديدة/ ولم يلفظه حتى الآن).
يضم الكتاب (33) قصيدة من قصائد النثر نذكر من عناوينها: "قولون"، "أرق"، "حسرة"، "ذكرى"، "قسوة"، "منسي"، "ذخيرة" ، "وجع"...إلخ.
