يحاول هذا الكتاب إبراز الحراك الفلسفي العنيف على فكرنا في هذا القرن، بين الفلسفات التي تصارعت في القرن العشرين بحروب كما كان بين الماركسية والبرغماتية والنفعية من جهة، والنازية والفاشية من جهة أخرى، وما أعقب ذلك من حروب باردة دمرت البرغماتية في نهايتها الشيوعية بعد أن قضت على الفاشية والنازية. لتظهر البرغمانية بسياسة القطب الواحد اليوم بما يسمى العولمة، ومن مشاريعه القضاء على الإسلام أيضاً. فهذا الكتاب يضع القارئ في حوار فكري عميق مع الأسس الفلسفية للفكر الإسلامي التي على كل من يحاول التصدي لها لا يغفل مدى تجذرها في الفكر العالمي، كصخرة صلبة تشكلت من الفلسفات الإسلامية المصيرية المتعاقبة، التي لا يمكن تجاهلها في الفكر العالمي، أو الظن أنها مجرد أيديولوجيا فلسفية قابلة للتدمير، كما أغريت البرغماتية في نجاحها بتدمير ما واجهها من فلسفات القرن العشرين المؤدلجة. لذلك وجدنا أن موقعنا الفكري كأمة في صلب الحقيقة الفلسفية التي تعني مصير الإنسان يحتم علينا إبراز هويتنا بعد سقوط الإيديولوجيات الإجتماعية، وتهافت البنيوات القاتلة الفردية، وهذه الهوية تدر حول مبادئ حقيقتنا الفلسفية حول مصير ومعيقاتها بين فكرنا وعقلنا ووعينا. لذلك وضعت في الكتاب مجموعة من التنبيهات والتعريفات من معين " رشدي " صلب – نسبة إلى إبن رشد – به كل ما يرغب القارئ المثقف فلسفياً طرحه من إشارات وتنبيهات تتعلق بخلود الميتافيزياء الفسلفية في هذه الطروحات نظرياً، من أجل الحث على الفكر التجريبي العلمي والعملي الذي قصرنا عن ممارسته بسبب غياب هذا النظر العميق، لذلك بقينا نلهث وراء " تكنولوجيا" تسبقنا دوماً، وتهدد مصيرنا القريب. أما مصيرنا البعيد فلا خوف عليه بسبب رسوخ الميتافيزياء، الإسلامية النظرية بقدر رسوخ وتجذر هذه الأمة.
