في زحمة منظومة التشبيهات التي تزخر بها مجموعة "أناشيد تبحث عن ضفاف"للشاعر يحي الناعبي تتهيكل القصائد من مجموعة متوالية من هذه التشبيهات لتؤسس خطابها عبر لغة تقترب من معاني الوجد والحكمة والخيال أمام حيرة الأنا وتساؤلاتها، التي تتراكم وتتقاطع داخل نسيج المعنى في مستويات متعددة ومتشابكة تتمظهر في علاقات ثنائية بين (الحضور والغياب) و (الزمان والمكان) لذلك سماها الشاعر في إحدى قصائده "حياة هاربة":
"دائماً كلما أردت أن أستشف المستقبل / أجد أنه كتلة من الضباب / شمسه لا تشرق في موعدها / وليلة يطول فيه البكاء / بينما النهار بأطواله تتأوه / فيها الكائنات (...) ومجتمعات تشبه الحشائش / في ضآلتها / لم تكتفِ بدفن أحيائها / بل تعذِّب أرواح موتاها / بتلذذ وعنجهية سوداء وغبية / هذا هو قدرنا متهالك / في مياهه الآسنة". إن استدعاء الشاعر لهذه الحالة الشعورية المتخمة بالألم والآهات والذكريات، عبر متواليات من المعاني الشديدة الخصوصية تقترب في مضامينها من حياة الكائن العربي المعاصر ما يجعل من أنا الشاعر متحدة مع الآخر، وبأقصى ما يمتلك من وعي فني وحسي تتطلبه الكتابة الشعرية.
يضم الديوان "أناشيد تبحث عن ضفاف" خمسة وعشرون قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "كظلمة تتماهى مع البدر" ، "لذة مفقودة" ، "على حافة التيه" ، "الرحلة إلى سرنديب" ، "حنين بنصف ذاكرة" ، "وجبات سرية" ، "ميثاق متكرر" ، "سرقة النار" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
