إذا كانت الباحثة الدكتورة "رناد الخطيب" قد بادرت بكتابة أول كتاب من نوعه "عمان في عيون الشعراء"، رصدت فيه ما يقوله هؤلاء المحبون، الذين ألهمتهم المدينة، ما ألهمتهم من شعر، فإن ذلك يعتبر في رأيي بداية موفقة لمزيد من الدراسات التي ينبغي متابعتها عن تاريخ هذه المدينة العريقة، وما تضمه من كنوز، ولعل الدكتورة رناد، وهي المتخصصة في التاريخ، المسكونة بسحره وعطره، وروعته، تعدنا بتغطية النقص الكبير الذي تعاني منه حركتنا الثقافية بمجملها، من اهتمام بالمكان الأردني، بعامة، وعمان بشكل خاص، فالمكان والزمان والإنسان.. هي العناصر الرئيسة التي تتشكل منها هوية الوطن، وهوية المواطن على حد سواء.
القصائد المضمومة في هذا الكتاب، تشكل قلادة تطوق جيد مدينة عمان، عاصمة العرب الثقافية للعام 2202 اجتمعت، وأجمعت على هذه المدينة العربية الأصيلة والمعاصرة. وهي قصائد مختلفة في صياغتها، فمنها ما هو قديم يعود إلى مطلع القرن الماضي ومنها ما هو جديد، منها ما هو أردني، ومنها ما هو عربي، منها ما هو لشعراء بارزين مرموقين على المستوى المحلي والعربي ومنها ما هو لشعراء ذوي تجارب تطمح أن تصل إلى مستوى أفضل، منها ما هو قوي وجميل وأصيل ومنها ما يحاول أن يكون كذلك.
ولقد جاءت فكرة هذا الكتاب "عمان في عيون الشعراء" على غير مثال، لترصد بعض ما قاله هؤلاء الشعراء في مدينة عمان، الذين أعادوا إلى أدبنا العربي جغرافية المكان التي كانت تحتل حيزاً مرموقاً في أدبنا العربي القديم.
