توفّيت في بيروت عام 2004 وووريت الثرى في مقبرة الشهداء في بيروت بناءً على وصيّتها.

"من أنت أيها الطابع من بين الأكتاف، مزهواً بأيامك السبعة، مموجاً بالأفق والأغنيات، صائحاً بين الأسرة والأحجار والشجر، وديعاً كالأطفال، قاسياً كالشوك، مستلهماً الحبر والرصاص، صاعقاً بين النجوم، صارخاً في الغابات والبراري، من أنت يا سيد الرجال تحت كل كوكب، يا أهداب الفجر ووهج الليل بيت الصخر والسهول والجبال، يا وجعاً لا يعرف الوجع، وشهيداً يستشهد اللحظة تلو اللحظة، يا حاضن التراب الدافئ، يا نطفة العشب، يا قبلة الموت وابتسامة الحياة، من أنت عاشق الأسرار وخبز الفقراء أغنية الليل الأسود وغزال الخنادق، أشرعة الفرح والحجر الكريم ونبل الفرسان، غيم الشتاء وغيث الأرض وروح الأشياء، يمامة البحر وجوارح النسر وموج العاصفة".
