الجواهر المضيئة في طبقات الحنفية مصنف مهم في الطبقات تناول طبقات العلماء الأصناف فذكر أسماءهم وعلومهم وشيوخهم وأهميتهم ومناقبهم وأحوالهم، وآدابهم ومحاسن آثارهم، ومراقبهم، وأعصارهم، ومصنفاتهم وما لها من الجلالة، وكل ما يتعلق بذلك. وقد جاءت التراجم مرتبة على حروف المعجم حتى تسهل على القارئ المراجعة والبحث.وزيادة في الإيضاح تم تزييل المصنف بكتاب الكنى ثم بكتاب الذيل على الكنى ثم كتاب النساء تم بكتاب في الأنساب ثم بكتاب في الألقاب ثم بكتاب فيمن عرف بابن فلان ثم ختمه بكتاب الجامع على عادة علماء المدينة، وقدم للكتاب بمقدمة تشتمل على ثلاث أبواب باب يشتمل على فصول "الأولى" في بيان عدد أسماء الله الحسنى، "الثاني" في بيان أسماء رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وغير ذلك، "الثالث " في المتلقط من مناقب أبي ضيفة رضي الله عنه.
