وإدسن الذي يطلق على نفسه اسم مستر قصيدة نثر الصغير أو Mr.
Little Prose Poem هو بلا جدال واحد من أهم كتاب قصيدة النثر في أمريكا.
بدأ كتابتها وحدها -دون الكتابة في أي شكل شعري آخر- قبل أن تسود كموضة في أمريكا.

"شمسٌ تدخلُ من النافذةِ، وتُوقِظُ رجلاً يسكبُ القهوةَ على رأسِهِ"، اختارها وترجمها سامر أبو هوّاش هوالكتاب الثاني ضمن سلسلة "مختارات الشعر الأمريكي"، التي أطلقتها المتوسط بإشراف مع الشاعر والمترجم المعروف سامر أبو هوَّاش. لتنفتح على ترجماتٍ عديدة، وتسعى أن تكون «بلكوناً أو تراساً»، يطلُّ على بانوراما واسعة، ترسمُ خارطةً لأهمِّ الاتجاهات والمدارس الشعرية التي ظهرت وعاشت في أمريكا. صدر من السلسة سابقاً: "النوم بعين واحدة مفتوحة" لـ مارك ستراند.
قارئُ رَاسِلْ إدْسُن، ومنذ ديوانه الأوَّل "الملاك الرهيب" في ستِّينيَّات القرن الماضي؛ سيجدُ خيطاً موصولاً، يكاد الشاعرُ لا يحيدُ عنه إلا قليلاً، من السَّرْدِيَّة الصادمة، القائمة على قوَّة المفارقة وسريالية الحالة الإنسانية، والتي تضيء على مختلف جوانبِ الوجود البشريّ، سواء ضمن الحيِّز الفردي المغلَق، أو الحيِّز العامّ؛ المنزليّّ العائليّ، أو الاجتماعيّ المفتوح.
وممّا جاء في مقدمة سامر أبو هوّاش: ينطلق إدْسُن إذنْ في سَرْديته السِّرياليَّة للحياة المعاصرة، من العناصر الفطرية الطُّفُوليَّة نفسها التي انطلق منها الأوَّلون لسَرْد قصَّتهم وقصَّة العالم من حولهم، معتمِداً على الأدوات نفسها تقريباً، بعيداً عن البلاغة اللُّغويَّة أو التَّصويريَّة، والأهمُّ من ذلك بعيداً عن العقلانية والمنطق التَّفسيريِّ اللَّذَيْن يُعدَّان سِمَتَيْن أساسيَّتَيْن من سمات الحضارة الغربية الحديثة.
ويضيف: الكتابة عند إدْسُن هي فعل حُرِّيَّة مُطلَق، وتعريفه لقصيدة النَّثْر بوصفها «الجنس الذي يقع فيه كلُّ ما لا يمكن تصنيفه ضمن الأجناس الأخرى»، وبوصفها وليدة الاختبار الذّاتيّ لكلّ شاعر، يقع في صلب هذا الفَهْم للشِّعْر (والفنّ عموماً)، وعلينا أن نُصدِّق إدْسُن نفسه حين يقول: «إنه لمن المفهوم أن يرغب الكتّاب في العمل على ما يعدُّونه موضوعات مهمَّة. أمَّا أنا، فأمضي في الاتِّجاه المغاير. أُحبُّ أن أبتدع شيئاً من لا شيء تقريباً. فهذا يفسح في المجال للتَّخيُّل بدلاً من إعادة سَرْد ما يعرفه المرء حقَّ المعرفة».
