ولد عام 1944 في الخيام.
تخرج في جامعة بيروت العربية - قسم اللغة العربية وآدابها.
عمل بالتدريس في المرحلة الثانوية في صيدا وبيروت, ومايزال، كما عمل في الصحافة الثقافية، ويعمل حاليا مدير تحرير لمجلة شهرية منوعة تصدر عن مؤسسة عرين غرافيكس.
له مساهمات عديدة في صحف ومجلات تصدر في لبنان والخارج.

كيف نجعل الطفل العربي يحب لغته العربية فلا يهجرها إلى لغات أخرى؟ لا يمكن للطفل أن يحب لغته إلا إذا شعر أنها جذابة وممتعة. ولا تكون اللغة جذابة وممتعة إلا إذا قدمت له من خلال القصة الجميلة والشعر الجميل.
ونؤكد على الشعر لأن المكتبة العربةي متخمة بالقصص الموجهة للأطفال، ولا تزال مادة الشعر أقل بكثير، كماً ونوعاً، ومن عطش الطفل وجزعه الفطريين إلى الموسيقى والإيقاع في الأدب الموجه إليه.
بعد تجربة تمتد على أكثر من ثلاثين سنة في كتابة القصة والشعر للطفل، يقدم الشاعر حسن عبد الله جموعة من قصائده الجديدة التي تساهم في تطوير شعر الطفل العربي وإغنائه.
وعندما نتحدث عن شعر الطفل، لا نقصد هنا الشهر المدرسي الجاف الذي يكرر أفكاراً عامة مأخوذة بمعظمها من مستودعات البيت والمدرسة. فالشعر لا يكون مفيداً إلا إذا كان جميلاً ومدهشاً وممتعاً.
الجمال والدهشة والمتعة هي الصفات الغالبة على قصائد هذا الكتاب الذي نقدمه للأطفال والفتيان آملين أن يساعد على تنمية ذوقهم الفني، وإثراء لغتهم، وتعميق إحساسهم بجمال الأدب وجمال الحياة.
