في اللافتة الشعرية الأولى التي يستهل بها الشاعر عبد الله عادل مجموعته الشعرية الجديدة، والتي تتمظهر كبنية إهداء تعلن عن الحالة الشعرية التي تتلبس الروح الشاعرة وتسكن كل حرف من حروفها متوجهاً إلى القارىء : "إن القيم هذه الروح، عاجن هذا الضمير .. إلى سفود الحروف على جمرة الكتمان .. إلى المنهكة غياباً ، المكتظة شجناً .. أهديكم اللثغة الأولى .. بكارة الشعر "نافذة الزمار".
هذه الحالة الشعرية تنتجها رؤية الشاعر للعالم والكائنات والأشياء، ويجري التعبير عنها داخل بُنى شعرية موجزة يفصح عنها الشاعر عادل بقوة نسقه البلاغي وتعالقات الرمز وخزين الذاكرة، وتعين ملفوظاتها في بنيان الصورة الشعرية. لهذا جاءت معظم قصائده على شكل موثقيات أو شرائط حسّية شعرية أو لقطات شعرية محكمة تتنازعها أنساق الفكر والحياة الضاجة بالقلق والحب والأسى والوحشة التي بدت متخفية في باطن النصوص كمنظومات دالة. في قصيدته المعنونة (فلسفة الوجود) نقرأ:
" القابرون / على طريق عبّدتْهُ يدُ الضريرْ / لم يدركوا / أن العمى / أشهى على القلب البصيرْ / إن الحياة: البذلُ / لا تلك المشاهدُ والسطورْ / فمدُدْ على الأرواح / منهمراً / مدائنَ من جسورْ / وكنِ الصباحَ / الفألَ / يا لغةَ العبور إلى العبورْ / (...) الرحلة الصفراء / واحدةٌ / وتحكيها القبورْ / فاكتب روايتك / التي مذْ كنتها / كنت النشور / واترك لك الحرف الأخير / مودعاً / كلَّ الحضورْ".
يضم الكتاب ما يقارب الأربعين قصيدة في الشعر العربي الحديث جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "لقد ذبنا" ، "توقيع قزحي" ، "خلف هد" ، "أنا" ، "قارعة مثخنة" ، "ضلع حرّان" ، "نظرة في النجو" (...) وقصائد أخرى.
