كتاب في الوعظ والإرشاد والأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر، تكلم فيه مصنفه عن معنى الأمر المعروف والنهي عن المنكر وأهميته ووجوبه وثواب القائم عليه وجزاء المقصر فيه وأركانه وشروطه ودرجاته وآدابه والأمور التي يؤمر فيها والأمور التي ينهي عنها. وفصل القول في طبقات المأمورين المنهيين وفي بيان طبقات الآمرين بالمعرف الناهي عن المنكر من فضائل خلقية وآداب إسلامية. وأكثر من سرد صور جزاء المقصرين في القيام بهذا الواجب في الدنيا من ضيق العيش ونزول العذاب العام وعدم استجابة الدعاء ومقت الله لجميع الأمة.
كما أكثر المصنف من ذكر صور جزاء الاجتهاد في القيام بهذا الواجب الجليل فبين أن القيام به على أيدي العلماء العامين يعتبر عملهم امتداد لعلم المرسلين لأن الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر حرفة المرسلين وصفة النبيين، وأسلوب المصنف أسلوب نادر لأنه أسلوب علمي أدبي فقهي يجمع بين مخاطبة العقل والقلب ولذا كم نلاحظ على أسلوبه تعرض الأخذ بمجامع القلوب والنفاد بدقائق العلوم وطرائف الفنون إلى قرار النفوس. ولأهمية هذا الكتاب اعتنى بتذييله بتحقيق لطيف هدفه توضيح ما أبهم فيه من عبارات وما أشكل فيه من ألفاظ.
