هذا الكتاب لون حفيف من ألوان فن التراجم، يدور أصله، حول ترجمة الأئمة السبعة، أشهر من نقلوا الأحرف بأسانيدهم إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وهم الإمام عبد الله بن كثير المكي، الإمام نافع، والإمام عبد الله بن عامر، والإمام حمزة والإمام ذبان بن العلاء، والإمام علي بن حمزة الكسائي، والإمام عاصم بن أبي النجود، وقد أحس المؤلف عند ترجمة هؤلاء السبعة، إذ حف الترجمة بمقدمة طيبة عن الأئمة، ثم نبدة في بيان تفضيل حملة القرآن العاملين به، وحفه في النهاية بفصلين، الأول في معنى قول النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: "أن هذا القرآن أنزل على سبعة أحرف"، والفصل الثاني: شرح فيه لماذا رتب الأئمة على ما ذكرهم في كتابه، ومنهج غيره في ذلك، ولماذا قدم هذا عن ذاك.
وبذلك جاءت الترجمة بحافتيها، وكأنها صورة جميلة حفها إطار مذهب معظم باللآلئ، لكنه لم يطغى على جمال الصورة، بل زادها روعة وحسناً.
وبالنظر للأهمية التي يحتلها هذا الكتاب فقد اهتم "الحسيني عمر عبد الرحيم" بتحقيقه فقام أولاً بنسخ المخطوط الذي بين يديه، مثبتاً فيه بعض علامات الترقيم والنقط وغير ذلك مما يحتاجه السياق من علم الإملاء. ثم اهتم بعزو الآيات الواردة إلى سورها وأرقامها، بعد ذلك اعتنى بتخريج الأحاديث التي وردت بالكتاب متحققاً من صحيحها وضعيفها، كما واهتم بالترجمة لبعض الأعلام الوارد ذكرهم في الكتاب ثم قام ببيان بعض المعاني اللغوية، وساق بعض الشواهد العلمية ليعضد وما ساقه المؤلف من بيان.
يتضمن الكتاب ترجمة لسبعة أعلام هم اشهر من نقلوا باسانيدهم الى الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم وقد قدم المؤلف مقدمة عن هؤلاء الأئمة قبل الترجمة ثم نبذة في بيان فضل حملة القران وغير ذلك من الامور الهامة.
