إن ما يضفي المسحة الشعرية على نصوص إبراهيم الحسين في جديده الموسوم بـ (على حافة لوحة في المنعطف الموسيقي) هو بناؤها الأقرب لقصيدة النثر في تداعيات صورها وكذا الإيقاع الذي يكاد يتخذ من وزنه رنة موسيقية خاصة "قبل أن يرتجف الوتر / قبل أن يهتزّ / وقبل أن يرن / تأكد من أنك لست مخروقاً، وأنك سالك / أن أذنيك صالحتان للصعود / وآمنتان / وأن قلبك، سليم / رنة الوتر هي انتفاضة جسده / هي ارتجافته؛ / محاولته التخلص / من توتره ...". إن هذا التوظيف يجعل من النصوص أقرب إلى نوتات موسيقية، وترانيم أزلية تفتح القصيدة على أفق مختلف ومغاير في الكتابة الشعرية الحديثة بما تحتويه من تأثيث لغوي وتوظيف مجازي واستعارة، وصور تبرز شعرية الرؤية للأشياء والوجود عموماً والشاعر يفعل هذا من خلال سرده لتفاصيل لحظات آنية أو مترسبة في الذاكرة يحاكي من خلالها أصدقاء له فنانون وموسيقيون ورسامون فها هو يخصص قصيدة (جسدان) إلى الفنانة ريما سلمون / الفنانة التشكيلية يقول فيها: "من يستطيع أن يغلق تلك الحدقتين / من يقدرُ أن يغامر / يمد يده ويطفئهما / من الذي سيقدم على المشي ابتداءً من تلك الشفتين / وانتهاءً بعيون أخرى مطبقة ...". هكذا هو شاعرنا يصف حاله: "منغمس في الشعر الذي أوغلت فيه (...) / منغمس في الأوراق (...)، ومنغمس في الموسيقى (...) / وإلى حلقي تغمرني الحروف (...)".
يضم الكتاب عدداً كبيراً من النصوص والرسائل النثرية والقصائد الشعرية نذكر من عناوينها: "صورتي طافية في حمض القصيدة" ، "ولنا اصابع" ، "هجم النوم" ، "في قلب الأسى" ن "يشق الهواء صراخي" ، "كبر النهار" (...) وعناوين أخرى.
