يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة النظام الذي تتبعه اللغة العربية في تركيب الجملة ومحاولة إعادة الأبواب النحوية وفق ذلك النظام التركيبي القائم على الائتلاف بين المعاني الجزئية وليس على الناحية اللفظية المتمثلة في العلامة الإعرابية كما فعل النحاة.
ويهدف أيضاً إلى امتحان نظرية "التعليق" التي توصل إليها عبر القاهر الجرجاني في ضوء علم اللغة الحديث، وتمحيص علاقات الارتباط التلاؤمية الأفقية التي تنشأ بين دلالات مكونات الجملة، ومحاولة التواصل إلى الصلة بين تلك العلاقات وعلاقات الارتباط والربط بين المعاني النحوية داخل الجملة.
ويحاول البحث كذلك أن يدرس-من خلال الارتباط والربط-ظاهرة الغموض الذي يعتري أحياناً المعنى الدلالي العام للجملة، فيسبب له تعدد الاحتمالات، ثم هو يحاول ظاهرة تعدد البنيات الظاهرة surface structures التي تتيحها العربية للتعبير عن البنية المضمرة deep structure الواحدة.
تُعنى هذه السلسلة بالدراسات اللغوية: قديمها وحديثها، نظريِّها وتطبيقيِّها؛ انطلاقاً من أن اللغة هوية الأمة، ورمز حضارتها، وعنوان أصالتها، ومثال كرامتها.. إنها تُعنى بالتراث اللغوي تحقيقاً ودراسة، وغربلة بذور الموت من بذور الحياة فيه، عنايتها بما جدّ في الحقل اللغوي من بحوث ودراسات. وبقدر ما تحفل بالجانب النظري في علوم اللغة تحفل بالجانب التطبيقي ومناهجه المتعددة؛ أملاً في أن تواكب اللغة الحياة، باعتبارها كائناً حياً ينمو ويتطور.
ينطلق هذا الكتاب في درس بناء الجملة العربية من خلال منهج جديد لم يسبق إليه، يتضمن وصفاً دقيقاً، وتحليلاً عميقاً للنظام الذي يجري عليه الائتلاف بين مكونات الجملة من ناحية، والجمل بعضها وبعض من ناحية أخرى؛ حتى ينشأ المعنى الدلالي العام؛ كي يستفيد من ذلك علم اللغة التطبيقي في وضع برامجه وفق ظاهرتي الارتباط والربط بين مكونات الجملة، بدلاً من البرامج القائمة على ظاهرة الإعراب وفكرة العامل.
