في هذا الكتاب يقوم الدكتور "أحمد راسم النفيس" بإعادة قراءة للقرآن الكريم في صورته المتجددة والمستمرة من دون الإكتفاء بما قدمه الأولون. وبما أن القرآن هدى للعالمين وتبيان لكل شيء مهدياً إليه بغيره ومستنيراً بغيره ومبيّناً بغيره، فما هذا الغير؟! وما شأنه؟! وبماذا يهدي إليه؟! وهذه هي نقطة الخلاف التي يناقشها الكاتب حيث يقول "وقع الإختلاف في المصداق الذي ينطبق عليه المفاهيم اللفظية من مفردها ومركبها، وفي المدلول التصوّري والتصديقي".
وفي هذا الكتاب "سنرى كيف فسر أو بيّن الإمام علي بن أبي طالب (رضي الله عنه) كلام الله من خلال طرحه لقضية تشغل بال كل إنسان اعتراه داء الغفلة وسوّلت له نفسه السير عكس الإتجاه الذي يرضاه الرب سبحانه وتعالى. إنه سؤال البشرية بأسرها إذ قلّما وجد ذلك الإنسان الذي لم يسقط ضحية لخداع الذات. إنه أيضاً سؤال قضية بها متهم متورط في سلسلة من الأخطاء (...) تفتح مجالاً واسعاً للبحث والتمحيص في خداع الفردية !!".
يقول الإمام علي بن أبي طالب: "أيها الناس، إنما يجمع الناس الرضى والسخط وإنما عقر ناقة ثمود رجل واحد فعمهم الله تعالى بالعذاب لما عمّوه بالرضا فقال سبحانه: "فعقروها فأصبحوا نادمين". فما كان إلا أن خارت أرضهم بالخسفة خوار السكة المحماة في الأرض الخوارة". فهل الدنيا هي التي تخدع وتغر وتضر؟
الجواب الكلي على هذا السؤال سوف يقدمه لنا الكاتب من خلال رؤية أعمق وأشمل لعلي بن أبي طالب (رضي الله عنه) يقول "حقاً أقول! ما الدنيا غرتك، ولكن بها اغتررت".
