وكتابه هذا يشتمل على علم وعمل أراد بتأليفه أن يكشف ما يتعذر فهمه على المشتغلين بالكتب القديمة، ويذكر حال الأدوية المفردة المشهورة النفع باساميها الشائعة وأوزانها المفهومة في اللسان العربي. وأصل هذا الكتاب ثلاث نسخ قديمة وقف عليها الناشر، الذي اجتهد في تصحيحه، وهو كتاب قيم في بابه اشتمل على ذكر الأدوية المفردة والمركبة كما ذكر الأمراض والمعالجات.
