رواية بورتريه رواية رائعة ذات أسلوب أدبي مبتكر، وهي تشبه في طريقة تقديمها إلى حد ما رواية فتحي غانم الرائعة (الرجل الذي فقد ظله) حيث يعاد تقديم الشخصية الواحدة في كل فصل من فصول الرواية من وجهة نظر مختلفة، ولكنها تزيد عنها بهذا الإطار المشوق، وجو الإثارة المحيط بتلك الشخصيات والأحداث، فهي مزيج من الرومانسية والخيال العلمي وآدب الرعب، قام الكاتب بصهرهم ومزجهم ببراعة في بوتقة واحدة ليقدم لنا هذا العمل الأدبي المبدع الذي يستحق عليه التحية والتقدير، فهي رواية متميزة ومشوقة للغاية وتثبت أن كاتبها يزداد تفوقاً ورسوخاً من رواية إلى أخرى، وأنه قد ثبت لنفسه مكاناً في هذا النوع من الأدب الذي تفتقر إليه مكتبتنا العربية.
