(تحفة المفسر) هي نظم منثور في مقدمة أصول التفسير لإبن تيمية المسماة "المقدمة في أصول التفسير" أعدها الأستاذ الشيخ عبد الحكيم بن الحبيب أبو صندل، بنظم سائغ جميل، ينساب إلى الحافظة بلا استئذان، مما يبسر على أن الشيخ عبد الحكيم أوتي نفساً في الشعر، وفي نظم النثر.
يبدأ الكتاب بمقدمة عامة تتحدث عن شيخ الإسلام إبن تيمية، وتفوقه في علم التفسير، وأهمية "أصول التفسير" باعتبار أنه فن لطيف، جاء بقواعد وضوابط تحف نص القرآن ومن شأنها أن تصون المفسر من الغلط في فهم كتاب الله. فالغرض الأصلي من القيام بتفسير القرآن، على ما يرى المؤلف: "هو كشف المعنى (المكون في اللفظ عن طريق معرفة اللغة وسير الآثار المنقولة في دواوين السّنة، مما يثبت عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وعن أصحابه رضي الله عنهم وتلاميذهم التابعين رحمهم الله، ثم باستعمال النظر عند فقدان الأثر. وهو مشروط بما شرطه أهل العلم في المفسر من معرفة جل الفنون ... وقبل ذلك كله معرفة تفسير القرآن بالقرآن". ولأن إبن تيمية له اسلوب فريد في عرض الأفكار ببداهة ودون تكلف أو تصنّع، وهو مما تستسيغه الأذن، ويقبله الذهن جاءت هذه المنظومة من أجمل ما صنف عبد الحكيم بن الحبيب أبو صندل وقد بدأها بمقدمة: (الحمد لله على القرآن/ ودينه الإسلام والأعيان). وفصّلها على أبواب منها في فضل: "في أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بيّن لأصحابه معاني القرآن"، ومنها في طريقة الصحابة في دراسة القرآن، والإختلاف بين السلف في التفسير إلى آخر ذلك من عناوين احتوتها المقدمة الأصلية لإبن تيمية المسماة "المقدمة في أصول التفسير" وقد توزعت في الكتاب على (513) نظماً ختمها بقوله : "وهكذا قد تمت المنظومة / سلسلة أبياتها مفهومة ...".
