وظائفه: أستاذ ومدير في الثانويات، موجه اختصاصي في وزارة التربية، عضو في قسم المناهج والكتب، مسؤول في دائرة الامتحانات بها، أستاذ الحضارة الإسلامية والاستشراق في كلية الدعوة شوقي محمد أبو خليل، كاتب وباحث فلسطيني، له العديد من المؤلفات من أشهرها كتابه (الإسلام في قفص الاتهام)، ولد في بيسان بفلسطين، ورحل مع أسرته إلى دمشق فتعلم بها، إجازة في التاريخ من جامعتها. دكتوراه من أكاديمية العلوم في أذربيجان.

(حضارة العرب) كتاب لا شك فريد في نوعه، وكاتبه محب للعرب وحضارتهم، إلا أن الأخطاء والهفوات والمطاعن فيه كثيرة، فمع حسن نية (لوبون)، نلمس أنه لم يرعق نفسه ليحيط بدقائق العقيدة الإسلامية، فجاءت معظم هفواته وأخطائه في هذا المجال، فهو لم يتصور أو يدرك ظاهرة الوحي، أو أدركها، لكنه لم يقر بها لمحمد بن عبد الله، ولم يستوعب بعض الأمور المتعلقة بالنبوة والقرآن والشريعة.
لقد وصف (لوبون) آثار حضارتنا فأجاد، ودافع عن فتوحاتنا فأنصف، كل ذلك بروح علمية عالية المستوى قوية الحجة، ولكن بعد هذا الإنصاف يصدم الدارس (لحضارة العرب) بأقواله في القرآن، وفي الرسول الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم، وفي الإسلام عقيدة.
