يعد هذا الكتاب مرجعا أساسيا للباحثين والمتخصصين في مجال التعليم عامة ومجال التدريس بصفة خاصة ، ويتميز الكتاب بأنه يناقش أساليب وطرق التدريس في مختلف المراحل التعليمية بدأ من رياض الأطفال ثم التعليم الابتدائي ثم الثانوي وحتى التعليم الجامعي ، بالإضافة إلى ذلك يتطرق الكتاب إلى مناقشة بعض القضايا الخاصة بتدريس اللغة العربية منها ؛ التهيئة اللغوية في مرحلة رياض الأطفال ، وواقع تعليم اللغة العربية في المرحلة الابتدائية ، ومناهج اللغة العربية في المرحلة الثانوية.
