…إذا أضفنا الأهميّة المحوريّة للمشكلة الكرديّة، التي هي في وقت واحد مشاكل عراقيّة وإيرانيّة وتركيّة وسوريّة، بدا من المدهش حجم النقص في درسها والتعريف بها، خصوصاً باللغة العربيّة، وبالأخصّ في سوريّا.
وفي محاولة لاستدراك بعض الغياب، يأتي كتاب بدرخان علي هذا الذي تتنوّع فيه المواضيع التي تندرج تحت العنوان الكرديّ، كما تتنوّع أشكال المعالجة والتناول، إلاّ أنّها تبقى محكومة بالهدف نفسه.
وربّما جاز القول إنّ تشعّب المشكلة الكرديّة عكس ذاته تشعّباً في الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا، بحيث يمكن وصفه بأنّه مرجع تعريفيّ وعامّ بمعظم مفاتيح تلك المشكلة، من دون أن يحول ذلك دون الرأي الصريح والواضح، والقاطع أحياناً. وهنا لن يفوت القارىء اهتمامُ المؤلّف بالتوفيق بين ما يراه مصلحة للأكراد لا مساومة عليها، وما يراه مصالح للشعوب التي يعيش الأكراد بينها وفي جوارها. وهذا جميعاً من ضمن أفق تحكمه القيم المعاصرة للديموقراطيّة والتعدّد والتسامح. إنّنا نعيش اليوم، خصوصاً مع التحوّلات التي أطلقتها وتطلقها الثورة السوريّة، يقظة للقضايا التي بقيت طويلاً دون نقاش، بل دون اعتراف. فالمكبوت يعود عودة قويّة على الأصعدة جميعاً
