ولكن إذا أردنا إنجاب طفل فهو مشروع لا يستحقّ منّا التفكير والتخطيط، أو أنه أمر خارج نطاق تخطيطنا!!... بينما هذا المشروع في الحقيقة هو من أهم المشاريع في حياتنا، ويجب أن نعطيه القدر الكافي من التخطيط والتفكير والإستشارة والنصح والدراسة والإستعداد، وذلك إن هذا الطفل منا ومنسوب إلينا، كما إن تربية هذا الطفل وتنشئته تنشئة سليمة وصحيحة مهمة صعبة جداً.
ولقد اهتم ديننا الإسلامي برعاية الطفولة والأمومة في كل مراحلهما إهتماماً عظيماً، واعتنى بهما عناية خاصة يفوق ما تتحدث عنه منظمات الصحة العالمية، وتبدأ هذه العناية منذ أول مراحل الحمل، بل إلى ما قبل ذلك، حيث تبدأ منذ لحظة التفكير في مشروع الزواج، فقد ورد الحث على إختيار الزوجة الصالحة، أو الزوج الصالح بإعتباره النواة الأولى لتكوين الأسرة الصالحة، والكيان الأسري الناجح، وتستمر هذه العناية حتى تنشئة الطفل وتربيته صبياً ثم شاباً، مروراً بالحمل الولادة والرضاعة، ولم يقتصر هذا الإهتمام على الجانب الجسدي فقط، بل أضاف إليه الجوانب الأخلاقية والروحية والفكرية.
لذلك هذا الكتاب محاولة لمعرفة رأي الإسلام في هذه المواضيع، ومعرفة تعاليمه وإرشاداته النورانية لإجتياز هذه المراحل الأولية والمهمة من حياة الإنسان بنجاح، بالإضافة إلى التعرض إلى بعض الجوانب الصحية المهمة الخاصة بهذه المراحل من خلال الإستشهاد ببعض الدراسات والتقارير الطبية المفيدة، لكن دون التوغل والتوسع فيها بسبب الحاجة إلى التخصص.
