يقدم هذا الكتاب حوارات أجريت مع مثقفين على موقع الحارة العمانية الإلكتروني. يأتي هذا ضمن نشاط ثقافي متزايد تقوم به المنتديات الإلكترونية على الأرض إثر تغير طبيعة علاقتها مع الثقافة في عُمان من مستقبلٍ ومغطٍ لجديد الحركة الثقافية، إلى داعم ومنظم وصانع للأنشطة الثقافية. ويحوز كتاب "حوارات الحارة العمانية" على قصب السبق في كونه الكتاب الأول عُمانياً الذي تأتي مادته الخام من حوارات إلكترونية .
تتميز حوارات الحارة عن نظيراتها أنها أجريت في موقع إلكتروني، وقد طرح الأسئلة غالبا مشاركون مجهولو الهوية يقدمون أسئلتهم واستفساراتهم ودعمهم ومخاوفهم تجاه ما يطرحه المثقف بوضوح تام. وبدورها تقدم هذه الحوارات وجهات نظر المثقفين إثر أسئلة لا تطرح عادة بذات الوضوح في الفضاء العام. وضمن هذا التحاور، قد نلمح مدى إيمان الطرفين بالمقدرة على التغيير –على اختلاف جوانبه-، خصوصا أن معظم هذه الحوارات قد جرت قبيل الأحداث العمانية المزامنة لموجة الربيع العربي التي انغمس فيها الكاتب الإلكتروني والمثقف.
