"الورد المنثور في تشجير زهرة العقول في نسب ثاني فرعي الرسول" هو كتاب يضم شجرة العائلة لحفيد رسول الله (ص) الإمام الحسين عليه السلام، أي جميع نسله وأعقابه ... وهو تحقيق لثلاثة كتب دأب السيد علي السيد حسين أبو سعيد الموسوي إلى تقديمها في كتاب واحد وهذه الكتب هي: "زهرة المقول، نخبة الزهرة الثمينة، والرسائل الثلاث المستطابة في نسب سادات طابة". وقد أخذ الموسوي الكتاب وعلق عليهم وصحح وأضاف فجاء الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا "ضابطاً لجميع من بالحجاز من نسل الإمام الشهيد (عليه السلام) حضراً وبدواً، وفيه وصلة لم يوصل إليه نسبه، وغنية لمن لم يوصل إليه نسبه، وغنية لمن لم يحفظ أهله وسلفه". فكان ثمرة جهده "زهرة المقول في نسب ثاني فرعي الرسول" وفيه ثلاث مقدمات، وقطب، وخاتمة.
يحتوي الكتاب على 1- أعقاب الإمام الحسين إبن الإمام علي عليهما السلام، 2- أعقاب الحسين الأصغر، 3- أعقاب عبيد الله الأعرج، 4- أعقاب عبد الله بن يحي النسابة، 5- أعقاب طاهر بن يحي النسابة، 6- أعقاب عبيد الله بن طاهر، 7- أعقاب الحسين بن داود، 8- أعقاب الحسن الزاهد أبن داود (...) وصولا إلى أعقاب زيد الشهيد إبن الإمام زين العابدين (عليه السلام).
