إن البيئة الطبيعية التي كان العربي يقطن فيها، قد نمَّت عنده الإرتباط الوجداني بالطبيعة، وهذا ما تظهر آثاره في حضور المظهر الحسي في أي لفظة، فهي مهما علت في التجريد، فإننا نجد في تركيبها تساوقاً بين المعنى التجريدي العقلي والمعنى الحسي المادي، وهذا ما يشير إلى وجود علاقة معرفية وثيقة الصلة بين نفسيَّة الإنسان العربي وبيئته، ندَّعي أن المحاكاة في أساسها...
وكأن للفعل المحاكاتي وظيفة جعْل الإنسان محيطاً بزمانه ومكانه، والمقصود بذلك وجود الهمِّ الدائم بمعرفة العلاقات التي تربط الموجودات ببعضها، والعلاقات التي تربطه هو نفسه بهذه الموجودات، ويبدو كأن هناك طمأنينةً لا تتحقق للإنسان إلا إذا وضع تفسيراً لهذه العلاقة الجدلية بينه وبين الأشياء، فيسميها ويربطها به، لتتوضح سيرورة الحياة.
هذا على الصعيد الإنساني العام، أما على الصعيد اللغوي، فالظَّاهر أن هناك همّاً بضبط العلاقة بين الدال المدلول عليه، هذا الضبط، هو نفيٌ صريحٌ للرؤية الإعتباطية التي لا ترى تفسيراً للعلاقة بين الدال والمدلول عليه، وهو الفعل المعرفيُّ الذي اهتمت نظرية المحاكاة بتفسيره، لذلك استدعت منَّا البحث لفهم الرؤية التي تكلَّمت عن العلاقة الطبيعية الفطريَّة بين الأسماء والأشياء.
وقد انتظمت الدراسة في أربعة فصول وخاتمة؛ إذ وجدنا ضرورة أن يكون الفصل الأول فصلاً نمهِّد به قبل الولوج إلى فكرة المحاكاة بوصفها نظريَّة لها دورها على صعيد النظرية اللغوية العربية؛ لذلك، سنتكلَّم على دواعي التفكير اللغوي العربي؛ أما الفصل الثاني من هذه الدراسة، فهو يهتمُّ بداية بتعريف المحاكاة لغةً وإصطلاحاً، ثم لعرض فيه مفهومَ المحاكاة عند اليونان، ثم عند العرب.
أما الفصل الثالث من هذه الدراسة، فلقد خصَّصناه للبحث في أثر الفعل المحاكاتي في صناعة المعجم العربي، أما الفصل الرابع من دراستنا، فقد عُنيَ بمتابعة التنظير اللغوي العربي الحديث في مسألة المحاكاة اللغوية، ثم عرضت الخاتمة أهم النتائج التي توصل إليها البحث.
