خالد البسام كاتب ومؤرخ بحريني، ولد في عنيزة في تاريخ 18 نوفمبر عام 1956م. صدرت له الكثير من المؤلفات في تاريخ البحرين والخليج العربي، إضافة إلى إصدارات عديدة تنوعت بين الرواية وسير الأعلام والسياسة. وتوفي عام 2015م.

في الواقع كان ثوار ظفار مثار إعجاب لهم بسبب تلك الأسلحة التي كانوا يحملونها على أكتافهم، أما منظرالنساء وهن يحملن "الكلاشنكوف" فكان الأشد إعجاباً، وإثارة للافتخار بالنسبة لهم، كان إعجابهم هو الطاغي، ولم يكونوا يعرفون عن الثورة في جنوب عمان أي (ظفار) إلا أنها ثورة ضد الظلم ومن أجل الحرية وتحقيق العدالة، وذلك عن طريق الكفاح المسلح، وذهبت معه تلك الثورة إلى مكان دراسته الجامعية بالقاهرة، وازداد معرفة بها هناك، حيث تتوفر فيها المنشورات التي كان من غير الممكن قراءتها في البحرين، والمجلات والكتب الثورية عنها وعن قادتها وعن أخبارها، ولكنه رغم هذا الجو المشحون بظفار افتقد "فهد" برنامجه الإذاعي الجميل من عدن "هنا الثورة".
