إن موضوع "الغيب" الذي هو مدار البحث في هذا الكتاب هو موضوع ذو أهمية بالغة للباحثين عن الحقيقة!.. ذلك لأنه يستخرج لكل من العقل والقلب خيوط الصلة بين ظواهر الحس وحقائق الغيب، أو بين مظاهر الطبيعة وما وراءها. بل ينبه العقل العلمي الحر إلى أن قوانين الكون ليست إلا أغلفة لحقائق الغيب. هذا وأن من مزايا الإيمان بالغيب أنه سهل الاستقرار في النفس الإنسانية حتى خلي بين الفطرة والكون.
والمؤلف في كتابه هذا يطرق باب موضوع الغيب والإيمان به على الشكل التالي: التعريف بالمضمون الشرعي واللغوي للإيمان بالغيب ومن ثم عمد إلى الغرف من آي القرآن الكريم جملة من النصوص التي تتحسن عن الغيب، مبيناً أسلوب القرآن في ذاك العرض، وهو خطاب العقل والقلب معاً في أسلوبه البديع الموجز عارضاً بعد ذلك للسنن الكونية التي أقام الله عليها كونه المُشاهَد، متعرضاً إلى جملة من هذه السنن في العالم الحي للإنسان والحيوان والنبات إلى عالم الجماد كاشفاً من ثم الحجاب عن تقليد مادي أعمى للمحجوبين القائلين بقهر الطبيعة وسيطرة الإنسان عليها متناسين أو منكرين للتسخير الإلهي، موضحاً نظرة الإسلام إلى أن الكون مسخر نواويسه من لدن لطيف خبير، ليقيم بعد ذلك مقارنة عجلي بين بعض هذه العلوم وبين بعض النصوص الإسلامية، قطعية الدلالة والثبوت ليصل بالقارئ المتجرد إلى أبصار كيفية مجيء هاتيك العلوم مذعنة لتلقي عصا التيار في نهاية المطاف في عتبة إيماننا بالغيب، مثبتاً في الختام بعض عوالم الغيب وظواهره التي لاحظتها عين الإنسان، في عصر الوحي عصر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وفي عصورنا المتأخرة.
