أشرقت الشمس، كانت علاج فارغة مقفرة لا بيوت تبدو على مدى البصر سوى بيت البدري وكوخ الصفيح الذي يأوي إليه الزراعي ليلاً، سار البدري حتى وصل الكثيب، صعده وأخذ يتأمل علاج وكأنها بقعة في صحراء لا وجود فيها للحياة، رياح تهب وتحرك رؤوس أشجار النخيل، سحب تتشكل وتتفرق لتتشكل من جديد.
وأخذ يحدث نفسه هذه أيامك الأخيرة في علاج قد انتهت يا بدري اختفى كل شيء، حتى حواء اختفت، أي عراف في مستطاعه أن يتكهن بما حدث، وأي نهاية لهذه القرية. نزل ومشى خافضاً رأسه في اتجاه الزارعي.
وكأن شيئاً لم يحدث هنا، الناس والبيوت كيف تختفي الحياة هكذا؟ وضع الزارعي جواله على ظهره وقال: حيت تسأم الأرض تختفي كالبشر حين يسأمون يرحلون. لست حزيناً سوى على حواء. وماذا ستفعل لك المرأة، تشدك إلى قاع الحياة حيث عفونة الناس وقذارتها. لكنها امرأة يا زارعي. أعرف أنها جميلة لكن ثمة رجالاً نصيبهم من الحياة الرحيل، والمرأة كالمسامير تدق الرجل في الأرض ولا يخلعه إلا الموت.
سكت البدري وهما يتابعان مسيرتهما نحو الزعفران، وعندما أشرفا على الهنشير وشرعا ينظران إلى الزعفران تساءل البدري: إلى أين الآن يا بدري؟ سنمضي ليلة في الزعفران، إن لي أموالاً عند رجل همالي، وفي الصباح ننطلق، لا أحد يعرف ما حدث في علاج، وفي المساء نشتري قارباً ونبحر في اتجاه مالطا.
المبدع محمد العريشية في نصوص الشعرية والروائي لا يفتأ يطل علينا دائماً بروح جديدة مستوحدة مبللة بطرائق رصده العميقة لوقف الحياة، خالقاً بذلك لدى المتلقي ذلك النوع من المرح القريب الذي لا يخلو من حزن عميق، مرح كذلك الذي تلتمع به عيون الكائنات بعد رحيل المطر وانقشاع الغيوم.
