"أنا سعيد بهذا اللقاء لأكثر من سبب، أولًا لأنه يجمع عددًا من الأساتذة المختصين، وثانيًا لأن الموضوع عن الترجمة وأنا عاشق للترجمة، وقد انتهينا في المجلس الأعلى للثقافة مؤخرًا من ترجمة الألف كتاب الأولى في المشروع القومي للترجمة، ثالثًا أن الترجمات الخاصة بأعمال شكسبير وأعماله نفسها لعبت ولا تزال تلعب دورًا مهمًا في ثقافتنا".
هكذا افتتح الدكتور (جابر عصفور) حلقة النقاش وهي ما يستعرض كلماتها هذا الكتاب، وقد جاء لقاؤها حلقة في سلسلة (منتدى الحوار) التي دأبت مكتبة الإسكندرية على عقدها؛ لتناول قضايا ومشاكل متنوعة بمعنى الكلمة، فمن السياسة إلى الاجتماع إلى القانون إلى التاريخ والترجمة كما في هذا اللقاء، الذي تحدث فيه الدكتور (جمال عبد المقصود)، والدكتورة (فاطمة موسى)، والدكتور (محمد عناني)، والدكتور (مصطفى بدوي)، وقد أدار الحوار الدكتور (جابر عصفور) وقام بتحرير مادته الدكتور (محسن يوسف).
وبهذا يمكننا القول بأنه منتدى للحوار ولكنه أيضًا لقاء قمم كل في مجاله.
