(الحسين) مسرحية تراجيدية في ثلاثة فصول هي على التوالي (الحسين والشمر - كربلاء - الرأس والهاشميات).
وفي هذا العمل التراجيدي الرائع يتصدى "وليد فاضل" لإعداد حادثة الفاجعة التاريخية لاستشهاد الحسين بن علي رضي الله عنه إعداداً مسرحياً. يسوقه في أكثر من قراءة تاريخية متعددة المصادر. وبقدرة واضحة في الفهم وفي الدراية وتحليل الآراء والأفكار واستبعاد المشكوك فيه والتصدي لإشكاليات في الفكر الديني في موضوع الفاجعة، فنجح في نحويلها بكل مكوناتها (التاريخية والأدبية والجغرافية والإقتصادية والبيئية) إلى مادة مسرحية تقرأ في الحركة على الخشبة (المنصة) وفق خصائص العرض المسرحي.
تأتي أهمية هذه المسرحية من كون الكاتب استطاع إبراز أهم النقاط المضيئة والمواقف الكبيرة التي أعطت لواقعة ألطف أبعادها الإنسانية والإيمانية التي من شأنها ترسيخ وتأكيد مبادىء الدين الإسلامي، وارتكازه على الأسس العقائدية الثابتة منذ انتشاره وإلى الآن.
