في هذا الكتاب حاول المؤلف جاهداً تلخيص أهم الأحداث التي مرت على عبد الحليم، والتي عاصرها ، لأن هذه الأحداث هي التي صنعته وصنعت مجده الذي ما زال مورقاً حتى يومنا هذا.
حاول تقديم عبد الحليم الإنسان، الفنان، وأهم الأمور المتعلقة في حياته ضمن فصول سبعة: أولى هذه الفصول: عبد الحليم في سطور ذكر المؤلف فيه ملخصاً لحياة عبد الحليم منذ يوم مولده حتى الأيام الأخيرة من حياته، مع أهم الأحداث التي حصلت معه مبتعداً في ذلك عن الطريقة التقليدية المتبعة في الكتابة عن علم ما منذ ولادته وحتى مماته. أما في الفصل الثاني فتحدث عن (عبد الحليم .... والأغنية)، مبيناً في ذلك كيف أثرت آلة العزف (الأوبوا) التي كان يحترفها عبد الحليم في بداياته، على التحكم في أدائه وهو يغني، وهذا ما أسماه بالتقنية التي على كل مطرب أن يتعلمها ليصبح ذا أداء متغير عن أترابه.
بعد ذلك تحدث عن الميزة التي يسبغها الله على بعض عباده، ومنهم الفنانين، إذ يحبب بها الله خلقه لذلك الشخص دون الآخر، ألا وهي الجاذبية. وقد كان عبد الحليم يتمتع بجاذبية قل أن توجد عند مطربين آخرين.
