في كتابه هذا يتطرق الناقد صدوق نور الدين إلى مسألة هامة تسمى "النقد الديالكتيي" ويطرح عنواناً صعباً، وإشكالية في النقد الأدبي عموماً، وهو: "كيف يتحلل نصاً أدبياً؟".
يتوزع الكتاب على مقدمة، وأربعة فصول، وتمارين تطبيقية، ثم مفاتيح للقراءة ومراجع معتمدة في التحليل. ورغم التنوع الظاهر في أسماء الفصول إلا أن الإشكالية المطروحة ظلت واحدة متماسكة وهي التي ضمها عنوان الكتاب كيف تحلل نصاً أدبياً؟ قصيدة شعر، أو قصة قصيرة، أو فصلاً من رواية، أو مقالة.. لكن الأهم في النقد الديالكتيي الذي ركز عليه الكتاب أنه صب اهتمامه على "الكتب المدرسية" وما تحتويه من نصوص أدبية ستكون بمثابة الأرضية التي سيتعرف من خلالها الطلاب والباحثون على دنيا الأدب. وهنا ممكن الإشكال الذي طرحه المؤلف كيف تختار النصوص الأدبية؟ وكيف يتم تدريسها؟ وكيف يتم تلقيها؟ ومن سيقوم بهذا العمل؟
من المعلوم لدى الجميع أن الكتب المدرسية في عالمنا العربي تقع تحت ضغط مؤثرات خارجية عديدة، منها التوجيهات المدرسية، والسياسية التعليمية عامة. ومنها ثقافة المؤلفين وخبراتهم التربوية والتعليمية. أي الميدانية والنظرية، ومنها المؤهلات الذهنية واللغوية والنفسية والاجتماعية للمتلقينز وكل ما يلحق بهذه المؤثرات كالمراقبة التربوية والسياسية التعليمية بلد إلى آخر ذلك من إشكالات يطرحها الكتاب في محاولة لإيجاد منهجية متكاملة لتحليل النص الأدبي عبر خطين متلازمين، يقع الأول بين الهاجس التربوي، والثاني ينحو باتجاه النقد الأدبي الذي ينبني على التحليل والاستنطاق.
