خطط جورج بوش لغزو العراق فور توليه الحكم عام 2000، ثم جاءت هجمات 11\9 فأغرته بذريعة لغزو العراق وتنفيذ مخطط اليمين الأمريكى، بشقيه السياسي والمسيحى، لعمل شرق اوسط جديد، اتهم بوش العراق بحيازة سلاح نووى، وبعلاقته بهجمات 11\9 وبالقاعدة، وثبت أن حكومة الولايات المتحددة قد زيفت الاتهامات الثلاثة، ومع ذلك جثم الاحتلال من 2003 حتى 2010.
قتلت قولت الاحتلال الغازية المعتدية ما بين نصف مليون إلى مليون عراقى، وسببت هجرة بضعة ملايين عراقى، داخلياً وخارجياً، ودمرت المنازل والمدارس والمستشفيات، والكثير من المرافق العامة، وعلى رأسها المتاحف بما تحوى من كنوز الحضارة الإنسانية التى تميزت بها العراق، وتسببت في نهبها بما فيها من آثار ووثائق وكتب، ولم تكتف بذلك، بل تحت حكمها تم تنفيذ مخطط شيطانى لتصفية بضع مئات من علماء وأساتذة العراق البارزين.
عملت الولايات المتحدة، ومن حالفها، على تدمير ذاكرة العراق، وعقله وضميره، الجريمة التى اطلق عليها الكاتب وأستاذ العلوم السياسية الأمريكى ريموند بيكر "التطهير الثقافى"، وكتب هو وزملاؤه، من جنسيات مختلفة عربية وأوروبية وأمريكية وكندية، عنها توثيقاً فى الكتاب، وأطلق عليها المترجم الدكتور محمد صفار "الحرب الحضارية"، التى ليست بحضارتة.
تريد واشنطون، وحلفائها وأتباعها، عراقاً يرحب بالإحتلال والتبعية لها، يقبل بإسرائيل، إن لم يكن يرحب بها، قوة إقليمية وحيدة، ويقطع صلته بماضيه المجيد، حين كانت بغداد حاضرة الخلافة الإسلامية وعاصمة العالم لعدة قرون.
