هذه أوراق أتشرف بتقديمها إلى القارئ العربي. ثمرة أتعابي الشاقة وجهودي المضنية، التي إستغرقت مني سبع سنوات أو تزيد، قضيتها في دراسة هذه المجموعة الضخمة الزاخرة التي تعرف بـ"نهاية الأرب في فنون الأدب"، لجامعه شعاب الدين أحمد البكري الكندي النويري. دراسة مسهبة شاملة، لم أترك فيها صغيرة أو كبيرة، وخاصة من الأجزاء التي تتعلق بالأدب وأصنافه، إلا حويتها دراسة وبحثاً ونقداً على قدر المستطاع. فاتيت بهذا البحث، وهذه الدراسة وبحثاً ونقداً على قدر المستطاع. فاتيت بهذا البحث، وهذه الدراسة النقدية، في صورة كتاب "منهج النويري في كتابه نهاية الأرب في فنون الأدب –بحث، ودراسة مقارنة ... ونقد".
وقد إنتخبت هذه الأسفار الضخمة لتكون موضوع دراستي أثناء وجودي بجامعة القاهرة، لأن الكتاب لم يزل بكراً، لم يتناوله أحد دراسةً وبحثاً. ثم إنني وجدت الكتاب يشتمل على شتى المواد والمعلومات من فنون وعلوم مختلفة كثيرة، إبتداء من فجر تاريخ الأدب العربي، إلى مطلع القرن الثامن الهجري، الذي عاش فيه النويري (677-732هـ). ولاحظت أن الكتاب فضلاً عن كونه موسوعة تحوي مختلف العلوم والفنون، تتضمن ثلاثة أرباع أجزائه (وهو ثلاثون جزءاً مخطوطة) مواد قيمة ومعلومات نادرة، وموضوعات زاخرة من الأدب الخالص.
