هو معلوم بالضرورة إن المرأة في الجاهلية لم يعترف أحد بها، بل انهم كانوا يعاملونها وكأن ليس لها وجودا، وظلت على هذا الحال، إلى أن جاء الإسلام، فكرم المرأة وأنصفها وبين حقوقها في مختلف مجالات الحياة، وجاء هذا الكتاب ليسلط الضوء على بعض هذه الحقوق في مجالات مختلفة، حيث أولا تحدث عن المرأة في الحضارات التي سبقت الإسلام كالحضارة الرومانية والحضارة الإغريقية، وحضارات بلاد الرافدين، ثم بدأ بالحديث عن الإنسانية المرأة في الإسلام من حيث كونها مخلوقا كالرجل ثم تلا ذلك بتقرير شخصيتها الاعتبارية، وقد أعطى الإسلام للمرأة حقوقها كاملة كحقها في اختيار شريك حياتها، كما أعطاها حقها في المهر والنفق والميراث، كذلك منحها حق التعليم والعمل ولكن ضمن قيود وشروط وكان الإسلام في كل ذلك حريصا على حفظ كرامة المرأة وصون حقوقها، أيضا في مجال السياسة أعطي المرأة حق الانتخاب – البيعة، كما حدث في عهد الرسول وكما يحدث ألان.
