Book Description
يتألف هذا القاموس من أربعة وثلاثين باباً، يضم كل منها عدداً مختاراً من الكلمات، وقد رتبت أبوابه وكذلك رتبت الكلمات في كل باب ترتيباً هجائياً، باستثناء الأبواب التالية: (الأضداد، والأعداد، والتقويم، والزمن، وفصول السنة)، حيث لم يكن بالإمكان ترتيب الأعداد مثلاً ترتيباً هجائياً، وكذلك أيام الأسبوع في (باب التقويم والزمن)، وإنما رتبت تسلسلاً، أي: واحد، اثنان، ثلاثة... والسبت، الأحد، الاثنين، الثلاثاء.. وهكذا.
وقد وضحت كل كلمة من كلمات القاموس برسم يعكس المقصود منها، باستثناء الكلمات التي لا يمكن التعبير عنها بالرسم مثل كلمة (مليون)، أو كلمة (عيد الفطر). وقد أفردت هذه الكلمات (غير المرسومة) في آخر القاموس. ولكي يسهل عليك استخدام هذا القاموس يجب أن تتصفحه أولاً لتأخذ فكرة شاملة عن محتوياته، وتعرف الأبواب التي يشتمل عليها، وكيفية ترتيب هذه الأبواب.
وإذا أردت أن تعرف معنى أي كلمة ستجعلك الفكرة الشاملة التي أخذتها عن القاموس قادراً على تحديد الباب الذي يمكن أن تجد فيه تلك الكلمة، فكلمة (يد)-على سبيل المثال- ستكون في باب (الجسم)، وكلمة (وتر) ستكون في باب الموسيقى، وكلمة (خيمة) ستكون في باب (البادية)، وكلمة (مربع) ستكون في باب (الأشكال) وهكذا. وإذا أردت أن تعرف معنى كلمة (نغمة)-مثلاً ولم تجدها في باب الموسيقى) الموضح بالرسوم، فالبحث عنها في باب (الموسيقى) الموجود في آخر القاموس. لأن هذه الكلمة ن الصعب التعبير عنها بالرسم، ولذا أفردت مع غيرها من الكلمات المماثلة في الأخير.
وهكذا تستطيع عزيزي القارئ ببذل قليل من الجهد أن تصل إلى الكلمة التي ترغب في معرفة معناها باللغتين الإنجليزية والفرنسية.
