طبيبة وكاتبة وفنانة تشكيلية ولدت بالقاهرة عام 1976 ، وتخرجت من كلية طب عين شمس عام 2000، حصلت على ماجيستير الأمراض النفسية والعصبية في 2005، ثم على دبلوما علم الاجتماع.
عملت كطبيبة بمستشفى العباسية للصحة النفسية لعدة سنوات، ثم كمديرة لإدارة الإعلام بالأمانة العامة للصحة النفسية، وأخيرًا كمدير لإدارة رعاية حقوق المرضى النفسيين، وهي عضو في مركز النديم لتأهيل ضحايا العنف والتعذيب.
لها عدد من الكتب الأدبية والعلمية المنشورة ما بين مجموعات قصصية وأبحاث في علم النفس السياسي والاجتماعي، كما شاركت بعدد من الدراسات في بعض الدوريات مثل مجلة فصول، وهي تكتب أيضًا عمودًا منتظمًا في جريدة الشروق بصفحة الرأي تحت عنوان انطباعات.
أقامت العديد من معارض النحت والتصوير والفوتوجرافيا الخاصة، كما شاركت في معارض جماعية متنوعة، وتحمل عضوية نقابة الفنانين التشكيليين وكذلك عضوية اتحاد الكتاب.
حصلت على عدة جوائز منها جائزة ساويرس للأدب المصري فرع المجموعات القصصية عام 2008، وجائزة المسابقة المركزية للهيئة العامة لقصور الثقافة في العام نفسه، كما حصل كتابها "إغراء السلطة المطلقة" على جائزة ومنحة أحمد بهاء الدين للباحثين الشباب عام 2009.

في سياق الكتب والقيود الملازمة للدولة الاستبدادية والنظم الشمولية يكون " التعذيب" حلقة هامة وذات دور لا يستهان به. ففي هذه النظم ولضمان الاستمرارية لها ينتهج " التعذيب " بصورة وأشكاله المتعددة للقضاء على الخصوم والأعداء وهو سياسة عالمية وسلوط إنفراد به الإنسان عن باقي الكائنات.. فبدلا من ان يتماشى مع رقيه عن سائر المخلوقات تبني ما يحط بشانه إلى أقل الدرجات وفي هذا الكتاب قامت الطبيبة الشابة( بسمة عبد العزيز) بهذه الدراسة التى تتخطى جدران الأبحاث العلمية الساكنة في أبراج عاجية بعيدة عن الواقع ومن يعيشوه بالنزول إلى المشاكل التى تؤرق المجتمعات المعاصرة فهي تقوم بتحليل ودراسة كافة الشخصيات والعناصر القائمة على هذه المنظومة الشنيعة من النظم والمعذبين والضحايا وكذلك الجوهور ، لتقدم دراسة تقترب فيها كثيرا من الواقع وتقدم دراسة إنسانية قائمة على المنهج العلمي ، بحث علمي ينبض بالمشاهد الإنساني.
