في جديدها الشعري "فتاة السقف.. تبتسم" تعتني "روان طلال" بالصورة الشعرية اعتناءاً استثنائياً وذلك بالمقاربة الحسية بين الكلمة والشيء وتأسيس العلاقة الجدلية بينهما، فالشاعرة هنا لا تكتب الشيء/ الصورة؛ انما تعمل على تحرير المعنى في الشيء ليتحرر الشعر عبر فاعلية اللغة، وهو ما سعت إلى إظهاره وإشاعته في النص تقول: "... نص ناضج وعنوان براق/ نجتمع على سبيل الصدفة في حيواتنا المختلفة/ بأدوار متجددة/ فتاة السقف تنتظر الصدفة التي ستجمعنا/ تنتظر المرحلة القادمة من اللعبة/ نجتمع أنا وأنت/ كصغيرة تقف أمام الباب الكبير/ وتملك مفاتيحه(...)".
وهكذا في بقية قصائد المجموعة فالعناوين تتناهى في دلالتها وإيحاءاتها داخل متن النص، وتأخذ ثيماتها، من الأنا الشاعرة بشكل واقعي سهل التناول يتمظهر ذلك من العناوين: "خريف نصَ"، "نكسة"، "رسالة متأخرة"، "نعنع"، "مرَة"، "ضوء وصورة"، "على بابك"...الخ.
