من منا لا يعرف أو يسمع بالملا عبود الكرخي، الشاعر الشعبي الذي ملأت حكاياته وأشعاره وأمثاله البغدادية كل- مكان.
يعد المثل الشعبي بحد ذاته ذا طبيعة جذابة ومؤثرة، والعشر الشعبي يشق طريقاً أقصر إلى مستحقيه ويحظى بإعجابهم وتفهمهم بسرعة واضحة بسبب إدراك بعض الناس لأهمية المثل نفسه وتأثيره في حياتهم، مما يجعلهم يرون في هذه الأشعار صوراً من واقعهم الذي يعيشونه، منقولة على لسان الشاعر بشكل بديع. وقد كان كتاب -الحكايات والأمثال العامية البغدادية- الذي نقدمه للقارئ الكريم يعد موسوعة للشعر الشعبي، وقد تفنن الملا عبود الكرخي في تعميق الأمثال والحكايات البغدادية في شعره فتارة نراه يستخدم المثل لقصيدته مثل (النار تخلف عار) كما كان يصوغ روح المثل والحكمة التي قيل من أجلها لذا فإن أمثاله كانت تأتي طوعية، سلسلة منسجمة مع الأبيات لتؤدي الغرض المنشود، كما كان يختزن في ذاكرته حصيلة كبيرة من الحكايات والأمثال الشعبية العامية البغدادية بحيث لا تخلو قصيدة من قصائده مهما كان غرضها من مثل أو أكثر.
إننا نترك هذا الكتاب الموسوعة لكل المتذوقين للشعر الشعبي ليتمتعوا بحكايات وأمثال وشعر الملا عبود الكرخي.
