تعتبر الفيزياء من اهم العلوم المعروفة، حتى أن هذا العلم يعتبر أباً للعلوم المختلفة فهو يخوض في معظم- إن لم يكن كل- فروع العلوم ويربط بينها، وهذا الكتاب يبحث في بعض فروع الفيزياء، وبالتحديد الفيزياء الكلاسيكية التي سادت حتى مطلع القرن العشرين.
يبدأ الكتاب بدراسة الميكانيكا كجزء منفصل، إعتباراً من الفصل الاول وحتى السادس، ثم يعرض في الجزء الثاني موضوع الحرارة، والجزء الثالث موضوع الموائع، ونختم بالجزء الرابع والذي يبحث في موضوع الكهرباء السكونية والتطبيقات المتعلقة بها.
لقد وضع الكتاب بأسلوب ميسر وبسيط ليسهل على القارئ وبالتحديد الكليات والمعاهد استخدامه، حيث تضمن عدداً من الأشكال التوضيحية والجداول الأمثلة المحلولة والمسائل التي يتوجب على الطالب حلها والبحث فيها، لأن في ذلك اثراء للمادة المشروحة، كما أن هذه المسائل يحتوي بعضهما على افكار جديدة يجب أن يتعرف عليها القارئ.
أخي القارئ العزيز، إن المؤلف في موضوع من مواضيع الفيزياء يقع في حيرة كبيرة، فهو إما أن يهتم بالعلاقات الرياضية ويقوم باشتقاقها والتطبيق عليها على حساب العمق الفيزيائي، أو يغلب العمق الفيزيائي على القوانين الرياضية. وفي هذا الكتاب تم تغليب الجانب الرياضي على الجانب الفيزيائي، حيث أن هذا الكتاب وضع للقارئ العام وليس للمختصين والمحترفين الفيزيائيين.
