اللغة هي أداة التفكير وأهم أساليب التواصل بين الناس، وقد شهدت لغات العالم المتداولة اليوم تطوراً في ألفاظها وتراكيبها وقوعدها وتمكنت بعض اللغات، كالإنكليزية، مثلاً، من غزو معظم الأرض لتصبح لغة بديلة لكثير من اللغات السائدة. أما اللغة العربية، وبرأي المؤلف، فقد بقيت جامدة، لا بل تراجعت عالمياً ولم يعد يهتم بها حتى أهلها، والسبب في ذلك يعود، وبرأيه أيضاً، إلى عنصرين أساسيين: أولهما: علم النحو العربي. ثانيهما: الاشتقاق اللغوي من جذور الكلمة العربية لاستيعاب المفردات والمصطلحات.
وقد قام المؤلف في كتابه هذا بنقد علم النحو معتمداً على تصنيف النحاة. باحثاً في أنواع الكلمة: الاسم، الفعل، الحرف. فتحت عنوان الاسم تمّ البحث في المرفوعات المنصوبات المجرورات. وتحت عنوان الفعل تمّ البحث في الأفعال الماضية والمضارعة وأفعال الأمر والأفعال الناقصة. وتحت عنوان الحرف تمّ الحث في كثير من الحروف المستخدمة وعلى رأسها أحرف الجر. ليظهر من ثم غياب المحاكمة السليمة في قواعد النحو العربي بأسلوب يختلف عن أسلوب القدماء وتراكيبهم ومصطلحاتهم متوخياً في ذلك الإيجاز والتبسيط، وذلك كي يتمكن أكبر عدد من القراء فهم البحث. كما قام المؤلف باستعراض مشكلة الاشتقاق اللغوي بشكل موجز مبسط، مقترحاً الحلول الممكنة لها، ومدعماً الأفكار الواردة ببعض الأمثلة من الذكر الحكيم ومن الشعر العربي.
"جناية سيبويه" يبين بشكل مبسط موجز ونقدي أن قواعد اللغة العربية شكل بلا مضمون وتعلمها مضيعة للوقت وتشتيت للتفكير وهي معطيات متخبطة خالية الدلالة مليئة بالوهم والحشو، لذلك، لم ولن يتعلمها معظم الشعب العربي لاستخدامها في الحياة اليومية العملية والعلمية ولا يمكن للأمة العربية أن تتطور فكرياً وأن تعرف الدقة-سمة هذا العصر-دون إعادة النظر في كثير من قضايا اللغة العربية وعلى رأسها تلك القواعد السائدة.
