عنيت أن يكون هذا المؤلف متسماً بالدقة والشمول والجدة ولذا أدخلت في هذه الطبعة عدداً من الأبواب منها المشهيات والسندوتشات، كما أضفت أصنافاً عديدة وتعديلات حديثة على الأبواب كلها تقريباً استلزمها تطور علوم الأطعمة. وراعيت الدقة في مقاديره والسرعة في طرق الإعداد والعمل، والشمول مع الطرافة والجدة ورخص التكاليف فيما حواه من أصناف مختلفة بلغت بأبواب الكتاب عشرين باباً. فهو بحق كتاب جامع شامل يضم في اختصار وبساطة دون تشويه أبواب كتابي "فن الطهي الحديث في اللحوم" و "فن الطهي الحديث في الحلوى".
واستجابة لرغبة الجماهير في كل أنحاء العالم العربي عمدت أن يصدر الكتاب بالكيل، ولأول مرة كذلك في تاريخ كتب الطهي العربية تستخرج مقادير متعددة باتباع طريقة واحدة في العمل من المقادير الأساسية وبإضافات بسيطة إليها أو حذف منها مما أدى إلى شمول بالغ في الدقة وخاصة في باب الكعك والجاتو والبسكويت.
وقد حققت في هذه الطبعة ما فاتني عمله في الطبعات السابقة إذ أوليت تدور الضغط عناية خاصة لما تقدمه للمرأة العاملة وربة البيت من اقتصاد ملموس في الوقت والجهد والمال كما وضعت جدولاً يبين كيفية استعمال الثلاجات الكهربائية وطرق خزن الأطعمة فيها والمدد التي يمكن أن تبقى فيها الأطعمة صالحة للاستعمال.
