يوضح المفهوم الكامل بين العنف السياسى وأنواعه والنظرية المفسرة له .والنظرية المفسرة له .والثورة وأسبابها وشروطها وأشكالها ،والاستراتيجية الخاصة بتحقيق الثورة.
وفى النهاية يحدد ماهية الأهداف والوظائف والنتائج عن الثورة،وميزاتها ،والخصائص الاجتماعية ،والتغيير الذى تحدثه الثورة داخل المجتمع ، مع ذكر نماذج للثورات التقليدية والحديثة .
في المجتمعات الحديثة نجد أن العنف يمارس من قبل الأفراد والجماعات المتطرقة لإيجاد مكان لها داخل بناء القوة بغية تحقيق مكاسب خاصة، الأمر الذي ينتج عنه تذمر واستياء من قبل القاعدة العريضة للمجتمع، حتى يقودها إلى استعمال العنف المضاد الذي قد يتخذ شكل ثورة لتصفية أولئك الخصوم الذين يسعون إلى تحقيق مصالح خاصة على حساب مصلحة المتجمع.
ونظراً لما لموضوعي العنف السياسي والثورة من أهمية فرضها ما يرتبط بها من تغيرات في الأنساق والأبنية الاجتماعية للمجتمعات، وما توجده من تنظيمات جديدة بداخلها.. لأجل ذلك - ولأسباب أخرى متعددة.
وقد قمت بتقسيم هذا الكتاب إلى فصلين: الفصل الأول يتناول بالدراسة والتحليل استعمالات العنف المادي، إلى جانب مناقشة تلك التحديات الخاصة باستعمال العنف والقوة لتحقيق مكاسب وأغراض سياسية. كذلك سأحاول فيه تسليط الضوء على الطرق المختلفة التي تنتج عن الفعل السياسي العالمي، والذي تتسبب عنه في غالب الأحيان ممارسة للعنف على معظم الناس.
ويجدر بالذكر أن العنف قد برز كعامل فعال في الشئون الداخلية للمجتمعات، ولاسيما فيما يتعلق بقضية الثورة! أما في الفصل الثاني فسآتي على موضوع الثورة كإحدى وسائل العنف السياسي أو نتائجه، وذلك نظراً لما لأمرها من أهمية بالغة لكونها من الأدوات الأساسية في إحداث التغيرات المختلفة، الأمر الذي أكسبها أهمية خاصة في تناول عم الاجتماع السياسي لها بالدراسة والتحليل. ولهذا فتحليلاتنا في هذا الفصل ستنصب على الاهتمام بدراسة الثورة.
