الواقع الذي نعيشه الأمة واقع لا تحسد عليه، فعلى كل الأصعدة السياسية، الإقتصادية، الإجتماعية، التربوية، العسكرية، والنفسية، يجد المرء تردياً في الأوضاع، وإنتكاساً، ليس بعده إنتكاس، وواقع مثل هذا الواقع، يكون نقطة جذب وتساؤل، حول الأسباب والعوامل التي أدت بالأمة إلى هذا الواقع المؤلم، والوضع السيء، فهل يا ترى يعود هذا الضعف إلى خلل أساسي في تكوين الأمة ومكوناتها، أم أنه عرض سيزول مع الوقت، وبزوال الأسباب؟.
إن من التساؤلات حول هذا الوضع، ما يقتضي الوقوف على الفرد المسلم، ومحاولة تشخيصه بكامل مكوناته، فقد يكون الخلل واقع به، وما تعانيه الأمة يعود في الأساس إليه، فهو سبب المشكلة ومصدرها ولا شك أن في هذا الطرح إشكالية كبيرة، ومجالاً للنقاش.
وحيث أن العقل يمثل حجراً أساساً بالنسبة للإنسان، إذ أنه يمثل منطلق التكليف، وعلى ضوء سلامته، أو سقمه، يكون التكليف أو لا يكون، لذا فإن دراسة العقل الإنساني مهمة شاقة، وصعبة، وتستوجب الأخذ في الإعتبار لمجموعة من الأمور، والعناصر، والإعتبارات، الداخلة في تكوين العقل، وصياغة ماهيته، فالعقيدة، والثقافة، والعادات، والتقاليد، والنظام السياسي، والواقع الإجتماعي، والحالة المعيشية، والخرافات السائدة في المجتمع وغيرها، كلها أمور لها أهميتها في تشكيل العقل، وتحديد مكوناته وبلورة كيفية وطريقة تقويمه للأشياء، والمتغيرات من حوله.
وإذا كانت دراسة هذه الأشياء واجبة، عند دراسة العقل البشري، بشكل عام، فهي صحيحة عند دراسة وتحليل العقل العربي أيضاً، وقد يكون من الأمور الخاصة بالعقل العربي، ما يستوجب التوقف والتأمل الطويل، نظراً لخصوصيتها، ونقاء إنتمائها للعقل العربي.
إن دراسةً وتحليلاً من هذا النوع، تستوجب وقوفاً على الماضي، وكذا الحاضر، كما تستوجب النظر بشمولية، لكل ما يمكن إعتباره عوامل داخلية، في تكوين العقل بالإضافة إلى إستخلاص ما تؤدي إليه كل هذه المعطيات، من نمط أو طريقة في التفكير؛ لذلك يسهم هذا العمل كغيره من الأعمال، في مجال، في إعطاء صورة عن واقع العقل، الذي بصدد دراسته وتحليله.
