بين طيات هذا الكتاب مذكرات جمال باشا السفاح التي كشفت الستار عن الأعيب السياسية الأوروبية في تركيا قبل الحرب وخلالها، وسيلاحظ القارئ أن صاحب المذكرات لم يمن همه الأول عند وضعها الدفاع عن نفسه أو نفي ما نسب إليه من التهم بل ذكر الوقائع التاريخية كما هي. هذا ويظهر جمال باشا في مذكراته هذه رجل دولة وزعيماً الحزب الحاكم لا يوارب، ولا يهادن، يقف ضد كل من تسول له نفسه اغتيال دولته أو انتقاصها. من هنا حمل بعنف على الغرب كل الغرب، وكان من المسلمين في شتى أقطارهم. وحمل على الشريف حسين حملة عشواء فاعتبره خائناً وندد بمواقفه واتفاقه مع الإنكليز أعداء الدولة وأعلن عليه الحرب وأمر بإعدام كوكبه من الشهداء المناضلين السوريين واللبنانيين.
