Book Description
يبحث هذا الكتاب في شخصية عالم النفس النمسوي "فرويد" وعن أصول التحليل النفسي لديه.
يجيب الكتاب عن اسئلة عدة تراودنا: من اي نوع من الرجال كان فرويد؟ ما هي القوى التي كانت تدفعه للتصرف، والتفكير، والعمل بطريقة خاصة به؟
يقول مؤلف الكتاب: "إن القوة الانفعالية البارزة، وربما الأكثر حيوية، التي يمكن أن نلاحظها لدى فرويد هي "رغبته في معرفة الحقيقة وإيمانه الثابت في العقل". كان العقل بالنسبة إليه الطاقة الإنسانية الوحيدة التي تستطيع المساهمة في حل مشكلة الوجود، أو على الأقل، في تخفيف الألم الملازم للحياة البشرية.
سوف نتعلم من "فرويد" ومن خلال تجربته المؤلمة، أنه لا يمكن الركون إلى الثبات الإجتماعي أو إلى الثبات السياسي، أو حتى إلى التقاليد، لأن كل ذلك لا يوفر الإطمئنان، ولا يستحق أي ثقة.
لقد تأثرت شخصية فرويد بفلسفة الأنوار، فامتزجت قدراته العقلية المميزة مع فلسفة عصر الأنوار، فالمشاعر والإنفعالات في حد ذاتها هي غير عقلانية برأيه هذا الموقف الاحتقاري للأحاسيس والعواطف هي ما تمثله فلسفة الأنوار فالفكرة بالنسبة إليهم كانت محرك التقدم الوحيد، والعقل لا يمكن أن نجده إلا في الفكرة.
من هذا المنطلق سنلمس ما بين طيات هذا الكتاب الرائع أن مواهب فرويد، والمناخ الثقافي، والعناصر الأوروبية الخاصة، النمساوية، واليهودية في محيطه، وتعطشه للشهرة، والتألق، وحرمانه من التمتع بالحياة، كل ذلك ارغم فرويد على اختيار طريق المعرفة لتحقيق آماله.
