"أطفال بورقيبة" عمل روائي للكاتب والإعلامي التونسي "حسن بن عثمان". وفي هذا العمل يرسم "حسن بن عثمان" بورتريه ملون، واسع الآفاق، لتونس الحديثة، بأسلوب أدبي متقن، يقترب فيه أكثر من النماذج المتقدمة والملتزمة لا في الرواية التونسية فقط، بل وفي الرواية العربية أيضا.
وكعادته في كل ما يكتب، يواصل "حسن بن عثمان" التغلغل في العمق الإجتماعي، والفضاء الروحي، والنفسي لشخصيات تمثل نموذجاً للمجتمعات العربية، وخصوصا في بلاد المغرب العربي، عبر صور حية للمكان والزمان تتنوع بالشكل والمحمول الدلالي، الذي يساهم في إعادة تشييد وبناء الهوية الثقافية لتونس خلال مراحل مختلفة، وما شهدته من تحديث "لا مثيل له" على حد تعبير الكاتب عن بقية المجتمعات العربية، تمثلت بالخصوص في تحرير المرأة، وصدور مجلة الأحوال الشخصية، وتفكيك النبر التقليدية، وقد نجم عن هذه الحركة التحديثية بروز العديد من الظواهر الإجتماعية ومنها ما يعرف لدى التونسيين بـ" أطفال بورقيبة" وهي شريحة من المجتمع التونسي يحاول الكاتب في هذه الرواية التعريف بها وبالأدوار التي لعبتها في الحراك المجتمعي لتونس الحديثة.
"أطفال بورقيبة" هي صورة حية للمكان والزمان، ولحكايات تحيا عالمها الخاص وتأوي إلى صورها غير منفصلة عنها إلى الأبد، هي حالات إنسانية داخل مجتمع مليء بالتناقضات والخيانات، يقول الكاتب "كل شيء يتحرك من المركز ومن الأطراف، يتقدم وينقلب على عقبه، يتدافع من هنا وهناك ولا يستتب على حال، وذلك من أجل إعلاء شأن أبناء آدم جميعاً، عيال الله، وتخليد ذكرهم في العالمين، ولتحقيق ذلك كله تهون جميع الخيانات".
