لو لم يكن موضوع الجنس هاماً وخطيراً لما قد ينتج عنه من مفاعيل هدّامة للفرد وللأسرة وبالتالي للمجتمع لما ذكره القرآن الكريم في أكثر من آية بشكل مباشر وصريح ولما تعرّض له الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في أحاديثه الكثيرة دون خجل.
هذا من ناحية وأما من الناحية الثانية فلولا أهمية الموضوع لما تناوله علماء النفس – وعلماء الإجتماع والفيزيولوجيا وكتبوا ما كتبوا على المستوى العلمي دون أن يقولوا انتهينا بل إنهم لا زالوا يعتبرون هذه القضية معضلة معقدة تحتاج إلى المزيد من الفهم المعمّق وإلى تشريعات أفضل.
