إعلامي وروائي لبناني.
عمل في الصحافة المكتوبة والمرئية والمسموعة منذ أواخر السبيعينيات.
ومنذ 2003، يعدّ ويقدّم البرنامج الثقافي "روافد" على قناة "العربية".
صدر له في الرواية "الطيون"، و""خربة النواح"، و"معبر الندم"، ونصّ مسرحي بعنوان "رؤيا...".
ولد في الخامس من آذار مارس ١٩٥٥ في بلدة عكار العتيقة الواقعة في جبال لبنان الشمالي.
نشأت في كنف والدي علي الزين ووالدتي فاطمة المحمد في بيئة فلاحية ورعوية تتجلى أحيانا في كتاباتي الروائية.
أنهيت في قريتي دراستي الابتدائية والمتوسطة وتابعت الثانوية في بلدة القبيات المجاورة.
في بداية السبعينات انتقلت إلى جونية وانتسبت إلى دار معلمي الفنون لأدرس الموسيقى، ومن بعدها انتقلت إلى بيروت حيث التحقت بالجامعة اللبنانية لأدرس الأدب العربي والمسرح وتخرجت سنة ١٩٨١.
عمل لفترة من الزمن مدرسا للموسيقى والمسرح في العديد من الثانويات الرسمية والخاصة ثم غادرت هذه المهنة لأتفرغ نهائيا للكتابة الإبداعية والصحافية والعمل التلفزيوني.
تزامنت تجربتي الكتابية والإعلامية مع فصول الحرب الأهلية والاجتياحات الإسرائيلية للبنان.
أما بيروت فهي المدينة التي أحب والتي اخترتها مكانا للعيش كمعظم أبناء جيلي من المثقفين ومن غير المثقفين القادمين من الأطراف.
في بيروت استقريت وتزوجت سنة ١٩٧٩من ندى تحصلدار واليوم لدينا ثلاثة أولاد، علي وكفاح وبشار.
