وبشكل عام سيشرح هذا الكتاب للقارئ لغزاً لنفس الإنسانية المحير وأبعادها المجهولة الكامنة في عالم اللاشعور، وانعكاسات الماضي والحاضر وتأثيره في تشكيل الشخصية، ثم يحدثنا عن الأخطاء المحتملة أثناء النمو وأسبابها ونوعيات العلاج المتوفرة التي يمكن بها تدراك تلك الأخطار وعلاج الأمراض النفسية.
